2026 9th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Children's and Youth Prayer Breakfast and Day of Service

Join Hands to Prevent Violence presented the 9th Annual Children's and Youth Prayer Breakfast and Day of Service, held January 19th, 2026 at Jackson Hall with an opening Prayer for the young participants. and a day of service that included delivering breakfast to the sick and elderly in the community.

After breakfast the youth completed learning activities about the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as some attendees left to attend the annual MLK parade began at 11:00am in downtown Wilmington, NC., to commemorate and honor the legacy of the great leader.

After the parade, we returned back on time for the Magic Show. Remember the Golden Rule, "Treat others the way you want to be treated," as we enjoyed the edutainment with cake and hot apple cider.

In commemoration of the 1898 Coup d’état in Wilmington NC, Burnett-Eaton Museum Foundation presented an exclusive documentary, The True History of 1898: "Mckinley's Guns" about the only successful coup in US History.
